Tonight is the final post of the 70's Cave Astrola Catalog. Hope you enjoyed the scopes. Tomorrow I'll post their Components and Accessories Catalog of the same vintage.
The weather has been unseasonably cool with great seeing the last few nights. I'm going to try to see C/2007 N3 (Lulin) north of Sagittarius if the moon will cooperate. If not I'll go lunar roving.
Tonight I'm posting more pages from the Cave Astrola Telescope catalog circa the 70's.
Cave Optical was one of the big players in the Telescope market during the 60's and 70's. They sold Astrola Telescopes. I use to get their large catalog through the mail and examine every telescope that they offered. They offered a lot. Some of the 12 to 18 inch scopes were quite impressive. They even advertised institutional scopes, up to 24" weighing in at 4000 lbs.
I lingered long on the cassegrain scopes. My favorite was the 10". I've scanned a 70's vintage catalog and will post it over the next few days. I've never read anything written by any owner of a Cave cassegrain and would be interested in hearing from anyone who owned one.
